Alpha is a series of conversations about things we all question in life: Why do bad things happen to good people? What's the purpose of life? What's next?

If you're looking for a judgment-free space to ask hard questions and share your own opinion, there's a place for you.

Alpha is hosted all over the world. This one is hosted by City Church Charlottesville, though we will meet elsewhere. Location below.

Our next Alpha will start on Monday, February 6th, 2023 at 6:30pm, and it will go 12 weeks. We will meet on the following dates:

• February 6, 13, 20, 27
• March 13, 20, 27
• April 3, 17, 24
• May 1

The Alpha Weekend or Day Away will take place on the weekend of April 15th. Days with no session - March 6 & April 10.

Alpha will be held at the Center at Belvedere in Charlottesville.

We will start with time to mingle and share a catered meal together (note that Alpha is free).

After dinner, we will watch a 20-min video addressing some of life’s biggest questions.

Then, we will spend time discussing at our tables in small groups.

The night will end at 8:30pm.

Yes. However, many people who attend would not consider themselves Christians. In fact, you may disagree with the Christian perspective altogether, and you are welcome to join the conversation. In Alpha we explore the big questions of life and the Christian faith. Alpha is a judgement-free space, and ALL are welcome.

Absolutely not! It is for those who are exploring faith and/or looking for a community with whom they can discuss the meaningful questions of life. You are welcome even if you disagree with Christian views.
